Favorite Author and Book?

He is a good author. I will have to think about mine and get back to you on this one. :)

I just picked up the book 1984 by George Orwell (off my shelf) and read it again for the umpteenth time..!!!!

Anything by Stephen King.

Mine is Dean Koontz I just read his book the husband it was good. Right now I am reading Forever Odd it is good so far. I have read one book by the author it was pretty good.

I would love to put something very artsy and elegant... I would like to, but my favorite author's run on a scale from Stephen King to Fay Kellerman. I have read the classics, but Dean Koontz is still my favorite. "Forever Odd" is the current pick.
His offbeat characters always have something above and beyond the ordinary.
His love of dogs and use of their characters appeals to me greatly.

I'm afraid I can't list any one author or book...I'm a self proclaimed "book a holic" and hide books all over the house! LOL

My favorite author passed on...Robert Ludlum, close second Fredrick Forsythe.

I loved the Notebook. I wonder how a man so young is so wise in love. Or is it just writing about love?
My favorite author is Daphne Du Maurier - many of her books and short stories were made into movies - Rebecca, The Birds... to name two.

They all sound like great books. I know Leslie, He wrote that so long ago, maybe he just looked at his parents love.

I'll have to think about this and get back to you. This is a very tough decision, because I like a variety of different writers, and to compare some of them would be difficult.

David Baldacci, Michael Connelly, Tess Gerritsen and Tami Hoag, and I have read so many great books, I just don't know how to pick one

Isaac Asimov, James Rollins, Matthew Reilly, Clive Cussler - obviously nothing very deep. I like SF&F, Action/Adventure, Thrillers, Christian Fiction along those same lines.

I have a LOT. My fave authors include George RR Martin, Kate Elliot, Robin Hobb, Robert Newcomb, Terry Goodkind.

Fave books include: Song of Fire and Ice series by G RR M, The Sword of Truth series by TG, The Belgariad by David Eddings, The Tawny Man series by RH, Crown of Stars series by KE, etc etc. I have a LOT!

It is like everyone has been in my house and looked at my book case. All your aurthors are there. The Kellerman's, Nora Robb, Connelly, Pelacanos so many. I recommend Snow Flower and Secret Fan. I have read all the Laurie King books and I look forward to the next Holmes book.

I could never pick just one author. I have many favorites. I love Dean Koontz....just finish Brother Odd and it was a good one. I also make sure to read all the new James Patterson books....love the Alex Cross series. Many of the ones you have already mentioned are favorites. I just plain love books and love to read.

I like Kate Dicamello, Ayn Rand and Tom Clancy. I like many others as well. I used to love reading Clancy books until he started putting his name on other people's books and I hated those.

I am a devoted fan of western fiction. Although I do enjoy a good mystery, I always gravitate back to the tales of the old west. Being in a big minority, I'm sure, my favorite authors are Ralph Compton and Terry Johnston. Sadly, both of these authors have passed on. But, if anyone wants to try western fiction, these would be two good authors to start with.

I cannot even narrow it to one, though I have an 'order' of preference.

Anything Laurell K Hamilton writes is Fantastic... My favorite book... WOW... Curelean Sins... Not sure I spelled that right... But it was SO good... I don't ever recommend reading a book out of series but if you only read one Laurell K Hamilton book... This is it... Well I can't discount Mistral's Kiss... It's not an Anita Blake book but Mery Gentry is just as amazing!!!

Mine tends to be whatever book is grabbing my attention lately. The most recent was The Year of Living Biblically (and if you are not religious, don't let the title turn you off, as the writer is NOT particularly religious). He did decide to read and follow every instruction in the Bible for an entire year! This is a very interesting and even funny book to read. Please read my review, just published under my articles.

Trish - If you like My Sister's Keeper, try Nineteen Minutes. I like Picoult but sometimes find her endings a bit contrived. But Nineteen Minutes was incredible! I also liked Blue Water, which was NOT written by Picout but as, I felt, a very intense look at the process of grief and forgiveness in the wake of a tragedy which split up two friends as well as causing a rift in a marriage.

The strongest part of Blue Water, to me, was how forgiveness heals.

I am currently rereading my way through the Harry Potter series in order to read the last two books, because my memory sucks. I also like Jodi Piccoult (recently The Pact and Keeping Faith), Anne Lamott, and Michael Connelly rocks!

There is no one favorite for me...too many come in at a tie for first place.

There are way too many to just name one but I can say I LOVE Laurell K Hamilton... if you read Laurell though be prepared for sex scenes... And PLEASE don't read Blood Noir... None of her fans knew what she was thinking when she wrote that. However after writing Blood Noir she throwsback to her original style in Swallowing Darkness and redeems Anita in Skin Trade
