Visitations on tigers, before they die
A trinity: Poddar, with Robert and I.
Dreamscapes of jungles, of water and fire;
Realizations of tragedy, future so dire.
Machines march like soldiers, metal and death;
Taking in greed all the Striped One has left.
Men laugh in towers, their conscience forsaken;
Never a thought for the lives they have taken.
Species are dying before they are found;
The Tiger roars fury, no one hears the sound.
Poddar herds tigers, a shepherd of stripes;
Robert takes aim, with a poacher in sight.
I scan the future, as tears track my face;
Despite all our efforts we're losing this race.
Camouflage stripes can no longer disguise;
Nightvision scopes, infrared in our eyes.
Thunder explodes, bullets pour down like rain;
Black and orange bodies are betrayed by Cain.
Nimrod and Ares would balk at this crime;
While Extinction hovers, awaiting its time.
Disappearing in darkness, a roar of defiance;
And ghostlike, the Tiger will vanish in silence.

if not: do so.
a Knight needs to know of it.
as to the piece: i vibe to YOUR vibe. it's reminiscent of 'Chained to the Machines: a psalm'.
Rain soaked housewives

to kushal: Beware the Kshandada-Chara
I am jealous Lewis, on the second time through I lost count of how many branches this poem is above my own. Someday I'll join you at the top of the jungle my friends. And we can throw coconuts down on Dr Livingston.
A truly lovely tribute to the tigers out there.
Thanks for posting to my group, Anythingwriting
I love tigers
I realize your poetry is not about me. Just wanted to say that incase some knucklehead comes in and reads my comment and assumes that I think it's all about me. lol
Your poetry always says several different things to me at once. Are you scattered like me? LOL just kidding. Your poetry is unscattered and lfows from beginning to end. You are very talented Mr. L. :-)
Powerfully sad but true words. I did not know it was so bad until I watched a story on one of the TV news shows. I don't know what we can do to really help but wish we could do something that would make a difference.
Thank you
The photo is wonderful.
Very moving and unfortunately so true. The tiger like so many of our natures species are are disappearing before our eyes. Your bring tears to mine. Wonderfully written!
Lewis My Gawds [ they are all Goddesses actually, don't believe in God the way He is described here on Earth] You just knocked me for a Good LOOP!! I have been waiting for some free time to read upon your novel development, but had I known you were presenting such astonishing commentary I would have shown up much sooner.
YOU ARE AN EXTEMELY IMPORTANT FORCE My Friend!! I cry for the Tiger and I do some work towards Animals' Rights, please check out my Lighter Side of the Fight for Animals' Rights, but believe this Lewis:
I'm back, and my Heart knows Your Heart and is glad.
THRILLED is a better word.
Peace my Brother Lewis ans all who Love You, and who have earned Your LOVE!!!
Great to hear from you Glenn. I've missed your voice on my chapters. Hope you got the invite to my group, because they are now privately posted. If not, let me know. Thanks a lot for your comments!
Send me the invite and I'm in Lewis, I musat have missed it, I have about 9000 messages on my inbox so I miss a lot.
I sent a letter to Congress demanding that corrupt reps be dropped into Tiger territories with nothing but a polyester loincloth and a Koren made Swiss Army knife assembled in Nicaragua by Indians who hate us, and left there to prove their honesty with the ol' Tiger Test, but so far no response.
As to my activities, I have resolved to learn how to increase my visiblilty to increase the number of responses to my posts, so far I have under fifty comments on a dozen posts in the first year and that is an unacceptable number. But I will succeed because my latest idea is to hunt folks down and SING the stories to them, which of course will result in members' propety values plummeting, their children disowning them, their dogs biting them as they flee from the sound of my voice in HORROR, which will inspire other members to read me up and thus avoid that tragic fate.
I'll be getting your way soon. Not to sing, because I really like you.
I'll be reading you up soon!
Poddar herds, Robert aims, you watch... simply magnificent what you have done with this!
"Poddar herds tigers, a shepherd of stripes;
Robert takes aim, with a poacher in sight.
I scan the future, as tears track my face;
Despite all our efforts we're losing this race."
The race isn't over yet! Keep running...
Thanks much, Sandi. I plan to.
I love this.
Brave like Tiger
