There is joy in a melody,
whether the trill of a mockingbird
or the soft strains of a lullaby
hummed in the early morn.
When melodic notes fill the air,
there is a break in monotony,
a relief from earth's groanings,
telling the world
there is joy to be found
if we but open ourselves
to the simple music of life.

Some poems I see are good but dark and very sad.
Yours always are uplifting.
Hugs and blessings - S.
there's a softness here that reminds me of chartreuse caught in morning snow light. It lit lightly on branch tips, swollen with catkins, and sings sweet promise of hope.
music in my yard this week.....just the first warm day in Indiana in a while....and thousands of tree frogs emerge to enrapture all with the symphony they dreamed up in their many month hibernation.....and there was one lone and loud solo by the first pond fog to the scene... a rolling baritone that annotated the pauses in their soprano cheering. It is a ceremony of sorts....as are all moments that we honor with notation and celebration. I celebrate your poem in this fashion as well. thank you!
Dawn...thank you for your kind words. I love seeing the different languages in your comments. Very beautiful...

This was a great ode to all of that.
