Left alone,
locked in the past.
Forgotten friendships
buried,
Never meant to last.
Left alone
Time standing still
Unforeseen,
this bitter pill.
Left alone,
The sky is gray
It wasn't meant
to be this way.
Left alone
Who can I tell?
Left alone
In the pit of hell.
Left alone,
you didn't care.
Tossed aside,
Good times we shared.
Left alone,
Look what you've done.
Lost in the past,
No where to run.
Forgotten friendships
Lost in time
Did you forget
You once were mine?

Anyway, this is a very good one - one of my favorites of yours.
Good stuff.
The title is the same as a song I heard recently. Now it is stuck in my head! Some of the words are:
Light over darkness
Strength over weakness
Joy over sadness
He knows my name
Father to the Fatherless
Friend to the friendless
Hope for the hopeless
He knows my name
...
I am not forgotten
Never forsaken
I think it is called "I Am Not Forgotten".
Forgotten friendships
Lost in time
Did you forget
You once were mine?
are very moving. Good work.
And, I hope you find some employment soon.
My prayers will be with you.
This is only day one! I've never had this many comments on anything I've written.
No, my friend, though your poem is written well enough to portray a saddened, lonely heart and powerful enough for us all to feel; I should hope this much positive attention would lighten the heaviness. You should now be so inspired to write another about you never being alone. sort of like the one Sandi S. was trying to remember.
Though we may be blindsided by things that happen to us we are never really alone.
I pray you find a new job soon. A place where you will love your work and make life long friends. Friends that may move on down the road but are in your heart forever!
Stuff like this makes for better poets!
left alone.

Blessings and best wishes - S.
