She opens her eyes
to the sun streaming in
and she groans;
Just another day
to miss him,
to cry,
to sleep away the pain,
to curse Heaven
and pray for Hell
to take him
so he can't come back
and love her
with lies,
and pity,
and flesh that deceives;
She closes her eyes,
pulls the blanket over her head
and waits
for the pain to leave.
