Thank you. I counted the syllables, thought about reworking it and then decided making it conform to the rules for haiku would make it lose more than one syllable. I have written a number of near haiku.
With so many different interpretations of "haiku," it's difficult to see where any clear lines are drawn. I thought this would make a fine "haiku" depending on which "branch" of the poetry form you follow. Simple; yet elegant and awe-inspiring. Great poem (haiku or not)
