My eyes, pearl mongers disburse,
Liquid globes from lachrymal sacs,
Sprung out with emotional stirring,
Augmenting expressive depth.
A gifted twosome with thinking their own-
Seem sophisticatedly inclined,
In unbidden consolation,
Needs of any hour provide!
Mirth sometimes calls and collects,
Bright beads for amused squandering,
Sadness the thrifty seeker chooses,
The brightest for longer spending!
Exploited through years the sacs remain,
Beyond depletion and want,
Innumerable emotions, innumerable pearls,
No instance of scarcity taunts.
My ardent wish has always been,
Frequency of compassion,
These generous pearl mongers then,
Eke out every pearl conserved.
Own indulgence they often serve,
Reserve enough for others to spare,
Especially for those who flounder in grief,
And for those with rending despair.
Dribbled pearls bring solace,
Broken hearted invariably relish,
May your pearl mongers spare a few,
For those bludgeoned by anguish.
The gesture itself would suffice,
"I" be forever banished,
Mercy adding with a glorious flourish,
Humaneness, to human affairs!

Beautiful.
It was/is a rainbow.
:)
How about a smile instead?
And Jackie, dear friend - I'll opt for the smile - the rainbow is infrequent but the smile I can see daily. Thank you . . . .
"For those bludgeoned by anguish.
The gesture itself would suffice,
"I" be forever banished,
Mercy's touch bring in a fell sweep,
Humaneness to every human affair!"
A sweet song sung quietly... just lovely.
April - you're very special, my friend and your encouragement has brought me a long way on Gather. I'm deeply obliged and thank you from the depths of my heart.
Ed - I have a very special regard for you my friend and would never be able to express how much your encouragement and support has helped me and my confidence in wanting to continue writing. In many ways, I look upon up as my mentor on Gather and very humbly offer you a simple Thank you that comes from the depths of my heart.
Carol - you dear, you always leave a "warm" siganture. Thank you.
Compassion is so easy to give but sometimes difficult to find.
Fred - dear friend, it seems my articles without your comments somehow seem incomplete. Ever grateful for your wonderful observations. Thank you.
What a gift your poem is!
Oh Vinay, for you to be so unguarded and vulnerable in your writing, expressing compassion, pain, honesty in such a thoughtful, perceptive, and yet lyrical message is a marvel. Thank you, thank you so very much.
