I think the system is geared toward non-athleletes - folks such as myself who would not think about going out to play ball in any form that might take.
Many people do all their playing by using their thumbs on a video game controller. Others just never were involved in organized or disorganized sports.
The system is for those of us who would be either on the computer or reading a book. It's also for the little kids of the world who don't get enough active play either because it isn't safe outside or the parents just don't have the time or energy to take them out to get playtime.
If you are an athlete, I am happy for you that you find it easy to go out to get your fitness enhanced... Wii is for the rest of us. And yes, it IS fun for us.
I find myself laughing at the gaffes of the computerized players - especially during the baseball - the fielding is terrible! The characters look like the Playskool Wobblies that kids played with decades ago. They have no legs and no arms - yet pitch, field, run and bat at the ball.
It also enhances self-esteem - constant cheering section. I am better at sports when playing on this system - so far, I am enjoying it a lot! (Could you guess?)
