It's just another browser! My daughter loves it because she says it's faster than Explorer!

I like Firefox, it is another browser -you can download it from the internet - it looks different from internet explorer and sometimes it is faster - less bulky a program. This is where you get it - http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/

They have add on's that you can get for it - some to block pop-ups and ads. Some really neat things.

Firefox is growing to be the most widely used internet browser as it tends to be less succeptible to spyware and viruses than Internet Explorer. I recommend Firefox, or Opera, both are great browsers (Opera seems to work faster but doesn't work with sites like AOL.com).

I've never heard of Firefox or Foxfire before...ever.....just asked my son, the computer genius, and he said it's a browser, that's much better than Internet Explorer. He has it and loves it. I, myself, use AOL and Internet Explorer.....use AOL for Gather.....LOL!!!!! Hope you can get it figured out!

Don't know what it is but it was on our computer. My husband who works on computers for a living removed it. Not sure why.

Foxfire is a free web browser like Internet Explorer. I use Foxfire exclusively and like it much more than Internet Explorer or Netscape. Internet Explorer lets so much that is harmful on my computer. Foxfire is much more secure.

That security issue is the biggest reason you should prefer Foxfire.

I've used Firefox exclusively for a long time. It loads videos much faster. There are a few things I need to use IE for - the ABC full episode player doesn't seem to work with Firefox and initially downloading the latest photo upgrade from this site.

You should definitely download and try Firefox. Recently I published a list of free add-ons (bells & whistles) for Firefox which can dramatically improve your experience on Gather. Once you download the browser, please let me know and I'll give you the list of "must have" tools and what they each do.
