Consecutive Comments Without Refreshing the Screen

I just wanted to say that I really appreciate the Gather improvement where we no longer need to refresh the screen when we want to post another comment immediately after posting a comment. Sometimes I hit the Post button too quickly and still have additional thoughts. This new feature really helps. Of course, it makes playing games easier too! Thanks, Gather!

I completely agree! I love the new change. It is so much easier now. I write on a laptop most of the time, so it was always annoying because I would have to do all these key combinations in order to hit F5 to refresh. Much easier now!

I don't much like the ability of a author to delete a comment of someone else's. I had some guy delete everything I said because at the end of a discussion he was bested and got mad at me. There is not reason to delete what people say, it is like censorship.

The new ability does make commenting much easier!

However, I would be remiss in not pointing out that commenting in the manner that Tom D. and Jenna S. have is a violation of the Terms of Service. Thus, there will likely be more reports being submitted to Gather when members use the new capability in this way.

OK Kevin I give .... Why is that considerd a violtion? I must admit I don't care for it because you have to scroll for ever to get a box.

I also like the new feature. I was wondering how it effects our point-0-meter. Sorry but for me points earned and time expended are pertinent issues.

Basically, taking a complete sentence, phrase or thought, and splitting it up across several comments (as demonstrated above) would be a violation. However, circumstances will vary depending upon the nature of the content and how commenting was being used/abused.

This is definitely one of the features that I like in the new remodel of gather. I never have posted more than one thing in games because it's too much trouble to refresh the screen. But now, that's not a problem!

So, how is it that people where able to do that constantly before? And...if I accidentally slip up and bump enter...I shouldn't finish my sentence?

Errr...all I know is I'm having trouble posting half the time now and I haven't been on much because of it. It's aggravating. So, sue me for having fun. :) and trying to enjoy my experiance here again.

What is really needed in an edit option and some threading ... these message boards get awfully long to follow with so much stiff one doesn't want to read in the middle, and some people like Tom above waste space for effect, or post 300-400 lines of stuff no one is going to read.

There should be lots of great statistics about word count, post length, frequency distributions and threads that would make it easy for Gather to engineer a better site.
