Last summer my great nephew graduated basic training in the Air Force. My granddaughter went with his family for the ceremonies and took these pictures.

After the ceremonies and dinner with the family, they toured San Antonio. My granddaughter was especially interested because she will be going in the Air Force in January.

The Air Force ceremonies are awesome. I am so proud of my nephew. He is in Iraq on his first assignment. The town of San Antonio is so beautiful. Early next spring if all goes well, I will be going there for my granddaughters graduation. How cool is that?

Kim, I didn't go, my granddaughter went with his family. I'll get to go when she graduates. Charlie is the son of the nephew that I wrote about in " My nephew my hero". Hope you read it.
Congrats Nancy! Your family must be very proud.
Thank you Cori.
Thanks also for your comment on Mom jeans :) in my article and question about that.
My youngest daughter is married to airforce. My youngest son is airforce. My nephews son is air force. My nephew was army and another son was national guard.
A friend of mine finished basic about a year ago. I had her so scared because she couldn't do push ups, she thought she would wash out but she made it through.
Thanks for all your encouraging words on my articles and images...

We were stationed in San Antonio twice--both times at Randolph AFB, but I fell in love with the River Walk.
But MAN! Can it get hot down there in the summer time...note the fans on stilts at your great nephew's graduation ceremony. And note that the fans are blowing on the spectators---and not the "graduates"! ;-)

I wanted to thank you for your very informative comment on the stock market situation. That gave me some much needed perspective.
I was there in 1987 and was able to visit the zoo and tea gardens, it is something I will not forget. Everything grows so well there and much larger then we can grow our plants here.
Grads to your nephew and your grand daughter for the awesome images.
Blessings
