Gather.com Question: Removed Contents

Just wondering, if a comment I left on someone else's article is removed by the author, will that decrease the balance in my Gather Points account? Same thing with deleted articles, images, or videos: Will I lose points?

Wish I knew the answer but I don't. I would think the answer would be yes just because of logistics but I have to say it wouldn't exactly be fair would it?

I don't know but when it gets flagged the points don't decrease so I don't know.

Sometimes I goof in my comment and want to change it. If I remove a comment, I usually post another in its place.

I've heard no for the comments. As for deleting articles and images, I've done that without a decrease.

If the article or photo is old content, I don't think so. Other than that I don't know, but I'll keep checking back to see what the guides have to say.

That's a good question Selene !I would think that once you get points, they are yours to keep, even if something gets deleted, but ho knows! You shold put this question in the Gather Guides group, ir the Aid station!

Now to answer your question... you do not lose points when you remove your own content.

Keep in mind though that per the TOS, "Gather reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to delete points from a user's account if Gather determines that any Gather Points have been awarded inappropriately or if a user violates this TOS or any other Gather policy or agreement." So this is the only time that any points would be deleted from your account.

I asked this question before, and from what I know ,, No you do not get your points taken away,,,,and I dont think you should you posted, and the author is the one who decided to take you off, but anyways, let me know if any different

From what I understand, once you have earned points, they cannot be taken away after deleting content or comments.

And, if you delete something aren't you risking losing a connection?

I would only delete something slanderous, obnoxious, rude or mean. So far I have had NONE of those. My connections are wonderful and post honest ratings.
