Everyone is Welcome! (to ask or ANSWER questions!)
Have a great day and TY for keeping this going.
As for your first question, there is no way to respond to the message attached to a connection request (at this time). What I do in this situation is to right-click on the membername BEFORE accepting the connection request, and then select the option to open the members namespace within another tab or window.
Once the tab (or window) has been opened, I accept (or decline) the connection request, then head over to the tab or window previously opened to the members namespace and send them a message.
I may not have been very clear in this explanation, so does this make sense?
Unfortunately, the only option you have (on Gather) is to block the sender completely. This will prevent you from receiving ALL mail from this member, even if it is not a 'mass mailing'.
Depending upon your private email provider (Google, Yahoo, MSN, etc.), there may be options available to you which can make managing your Gather email notifications much easier.
You can read more about this at the link below.
I'm sorry that I couldn't be more helpful!
(By the way...the NEW and IMPROVED daily help articles start up again TODAY under the new Gather Guide™ program. Look for more information coming later today, or head over to the new Gather Guide group, at guides.gather.com)

Inbox flooded with Gather email? - Control the madness HERE.
Have a great day!
I am trying to remove a connection and have not been able to do so. I have clicked on remove, gather says the individual has been removed. However, the person is still there. I have gone to the connection and clicked on remove connection, gather says this has been done. However, the connection is still there. Am I doing something wrong or is this a gather issue?
The ability to remove connections has been turned off temporarily while Gather works to address a problem. Hopefully this will be resolved soon.
For more information, please visit your 'My Gather' page and look for the update by Tom Gerace, Gather CEO.
Also, the help forum has a new home. It is now a DAILY article titled Gather AidStation™. You can locate the current article by typing helpme in any article or tag search box on Gather.
Please let me know if you have any additional problems!

Questions about Gather? - Ask other members at the Gather AidStation™.
This article series is now published under the 'Gather AidStation'. You can locate the AidStation each day by typing the word helpme into any article or tag search box on Gather.
As for your question...are you referring to 'flagged by the community', or a mature content flag?
If it was flagged by the community, then only Gather can remove the flag on content, and will do so after they review it to ensure that there is no violation. Did you flag it yourself accidentally?
If it is a mature content flag, then you can remove this yourself by editing the article again.
The article is called, "I need points, you need points."
Please send me the URL (web address) for your article through Gather Mail. I have no ability to remove the flag for you, but I can at least offer you my assessment as to whether Gather would have a problem with your article or not. If they don't, then they should have the flag removed soon. :-)
Because the article is flagged, I cannot see it in your article listing. That is why I will need to have you send me a link to your article through Gather mail. Thanks!
Send an email to Gather at support@gather.com
Include your username (bigduckfeet.gather.com) and links to some articles you have not received notifications for.
Are you getting any other notifications? ...or have ALL your emails from Gather stopped?
If ALL of your emails have stopped, then it could be something you can fix.
I'll send you a mail message later this morning with instructions for possibly correcting this.
Hello! ...I'm sorry about that. I will send it again. I may have accidentally sent it from the Gather Guides username. I'll send it this time from mine.
Thanks!
Yes. Gather is aware of the problem. I'll send you another detailed response to your question/problem within the next few minutes. Hopefully I'll be able to help. :-)
