Why Diabetics MUST Read Food Labels
Periodically diabetics splurge on a bowl of ice cream or some other usually avoided food. If one does read the labels carefully one can be fooled! Many times the containetr holds more than one serving and you need to know that the nutritional values sucha s calopries, carbs, sodium, etc. will be multiplied by the number of servings.
Even, or should I say esecially, those foods tagged "Diabetic" or "Recommended by the Heart Association" must have their labels checked! More often than not they lie, but you can catch them, cover yourself and still eat healthy if...a BIG IF....you will read the labels!
An excellent example is ice cream. Those 'no-sugar added' types are still higher in carbs than the regular ice cream with sugar! Check on the facts not the eye-appeal of labels!
