I hate my cell phone!!

Ok, so I got this cell phone a few months back. Seemed like a good choice at the time. Nice big screen, full keyboard, slide-phone. It was oddly shaped but I didn't mind it was different and new!! Now that I have had it for a few months .....I hate it!! It feels so weird when I hold it up to my ear...big and bulky!! I have had to warrenty this dumb thing twice because it stopped working!! The reception is crap...tilt my head the wrong way and opps dropped call!! But the worst part is the battery life is unbelieveibly bad!! I charge it at night, and even if I don't use it the next day all day, the battery is going dead by 6 pm. If I use it, then it's dying by 1 pm. This phone was brand new on the shelf at the end of june and I have had to take it in to have the software re-downloaded to it three times!! This is just to let anyone know if you are thinking of trying a brand new cell phone please be careful!! Pick the one that has been out for awhile at least a few months and they are still selling it at the store!! They don't even make this dumb cell phone anymore and I'm stuck with it!! I have even had my text messages not reach me until two to three hours after someone had sent them to me. Sometimes the phone won't even ring at all and BAM now I have a new voicemail!! I can't believe I have to pay for such a piece of junk!! Why on earth would someone put a cell phone in someones hands that dosn't work half the time!! What if there was an emergency?? *Ok deep breath* I'm done now just had to rant about it cause I have other things I need to worry about!!...I do hope this makes someone think twice about the cool new phones in the stores for the upcoming holiday season....Please buy one that has stood the test of time!! You didn't say what kind of phone this is -- but you might look in the manual to see if their is a screen backlight control ou can adjust to extend battery life.

As to the "not ringing" but having calls and text messages arriving hours later, that sounds like network reliability issues -- that would be the carrier, not the phone.

i just got my first fancy cell phone, im pretty happy with it, i love the full keyboard, and internet stuff. i have a lotta fun with picture mail

If you can turn the backlight off that will save battery life. Also disabling bluetooth will conserve the battery. If you have AT&T ther may be an option on your phone if it's "smart" enough to disable the 3G network. It kills battery searching for 3G connection and trying to connect to it all the time. What phone is this perhaps?

You've got some good advice here. Searching for service definitely eats up battery life. If this is not the problem I would demand another phone. There is no excuse for having these problems after only a few months.

There are alot of bad ones out there, and people tend to go with some just for the fancy extras. I prefer something basic. Hell I only use it to recieve calls and make them. I'm due for an upgrade and haven't made up my mind on which I would like to get. I prefer one similar to the one I have now, which is a Razor. This one has an issue with battery life as well, but I have had it about two years now, so I guess thats to be expected.

People love new technology so these companies push items out that have not been thoroughly tested. I try to always wait a while after something is introduced before buying it but it is not always easy to resist. Talk to your cell phone company especially since this phone has been discontinued. They might replace it with similar model.

If you have Verizon keep taking it back to replace on the one year replacement warranty. After three they should give you a new phone and since that one is no longer made...you will get a comparable one

Hmmm... You didn't mention what phone this is. I was also curious if you were with Verizon, AT&T or another carrier. Verizon usually has good service with their phones and if something is breaking consistently they will work with you to get you a different one (or at least I have found that they will). I'm not really sure how that works with AT&T as I am a new customer with them.

Sorry to hear you are unhappy. My son has a weird shaped phone but he really likes it. I would call your service provider and see if you can exchange it for something else or return it and get something better.

The cell from hell! Yes, PLEASE tell us what brand that thing is! I'll be shopping for one soon since my primitive little Nokia, while faithful and dependable in most respects, has gotten too tired to send and receive multimedia.

My daughter had some kind of slide out phone about a year ago or when they first came out. Her phone and all here friends phones of the same kind broke down to.
