Words of Wisdom from My 7-year old Grandson

My Daughter called me last night.  She has been calling me a lot since her  Father passed away.  Losing a loved one at this time of year is very difficult.  Her Father passed away November 9th.

My Daughter started crying as she told me how much she missed her Father.  I told her that I missed him too.  He really was the rock of the family.  My Grandson asked her why she was crying.  She told him that it would be the first year that she wouldn't be with her Father at Christmas.  My Grandson said that his Grandfather was now an Angel and he no longer had cancer or was sick all the time.  He was looking down on us and watched us from heaven.  He loves us.

This brought comfort to my Daughter.  It did for me as well.

Children's words can be wonderful. Your grandson knows that Grandpa is celebrating Christmas with Jesus. What could be more exciting?

Wow, what an incredibly brilliany young 7-year old!!!! And, what really wonderful words of comfort as well.......it is very difficult celebrating holidays without loved ones....I know...I've lost both my parents....the first year is the very worst.
I will keep you all in my prayers....that you all will be able to make it through Christmas.

Your grandson is very wise. I love children for this very reason, they are filled with more wisdom than anyone realizes, stopping to listen to a child will likely brighten up anyone's day!

Children see things so much more clearly then we do, they are not clouded by years of experience that have jaded them to clarity of thought. He is right, and it makes me feel better when thinking of my deceased mother to remember that.

That is beautiful. I am constantly awed by the profound thoughts and wisdom that can come from a little child. I too miss my late father. Although it was August 2001 when he left this earth, I seem to miss him most at Christmas.
