Hello to all my fellow Points & Prizes members and fans. This article is just a continuation of three that I've posted here on Gather already.
Here is the 1st article: Points & Prizes words & discussion: April 2007
Here is the 2nd article: Points & Prizes article & discussion: July 2007
Here is the 3rd article: Points & Prizes article & discussion: October 2007
Here is the 4th article: Points & Prizes article &discussion: December 2007
I'm posting this new one just so it will load faster than the other ones. I appreciate all of the points words you all have been contributing, it's been GREAT.
For those of you who are just coming across this article and have no idea what I'm talking about, then I'll give a quick explanation. I'm talking about a website called "Points & Prizes". It's FREE, of course, I would never spend time on any points or survey program that I have to pay for. I am a stay at home mom and like to find fun things to do online to earn a few extra bucks, gift cards, and ways to save money in general.
Please click here --> www.pointsandprizes.com <-- to find out more about this website.
***** ***** ***** ***** ***** *****I copied the statement below directly from the website:
Join for free, earn points on our partner sites, then use your points toraid our prize box for things like movie and TV show DVDs, CDs, clothes, gift cards, books, calendars, planners, beauty products, magazines and all sorts of other cool stuff! And the more you play, the more points you will earn -- and the more prizes you can get.
We have nestled point codes into our partner web sites in many different places. Here are examples of just some of the ways you might earnpoints:
- Spot a Points & Prizes bonus code ad banner on one of our partner sites
- Sign up for email newsletters on one of our partner sites and look for point codes in their newsletters
- Locate a point code on one of our partner web sites (could be in an advertisement, hidden in the text of an article, etc.)
- Join in on a message board discussion and discover points posted by our P&P Coordinator
- Enter a contest
- Tell a friend about this site
- Pick up a point code in one of our partner print magazines
- Search the comments on SheKnows Photo Zone for hidden Point Words
...and there are many more ways to win! (But do note that not all of theseactions will earn you points, we and our partner sites will let youknow some specific ways to win. That said, sometimes there will besurprises and bonus point codes made available!)
Justtake the point word you get from this or one of our partner sites, andenter it into the box on the "claim a word" page. If the word is right, your account will be credited with points! Point words have varyingvalues -- some are worth a little, others are worth a lot.
Ourprize box is our virtual store -- but instead of money, you use thefree points you have earned to purchase items! At the end of eachdescription in the prize box, you will see how many points are neededto buy that item. Items are sold on a first-come, first-served basis.Point prices include shipping within the US (including AFO/FPO) andCanada.

Points & Prizes had a "First Day of School" photo contest back inJuly/August, sponsored by Great Clips, and one of our own Gather members, Amy, won the top prize!!!
Then there was a Halloween photo contest where I entered a photo of my youngest son in his monkey costume and even though I didn't win, you all tried your hardest to get me some votes. THANK YOU!!!
Please click here --> www.pointsandprizes.com <-- to visit the website and post your point words here. Thanks!

First of all, "Spot a Points & Prizes bonus code ad banner on one of our partner sites" is the same thing as the Keyword boxes we are looking for. There are no words in the banners that load at the top of the page.
Don't bother looking in the SheKnows photo zone. No pictures have been uploaded since July 07. They are presently working on it and will add more words when it's updated.
This is the full list of partner sites. 5 more will be added next month and they'll let us know what they are when it happens.

maybe with this list I'll be able to up my point value from ~2000 to the 4 or 5000 that other people have!
I just sent off another e-mail asking if there are in fact 5 words in each partner site and I noticed that some keyword pictures in the pregnancy&baby site aren't loading properly. They may be the 50 and 100 pt words that I can't find.
I hope this helps!
Have you looked at the contest rankings so far? How did some people manage to get over 8000 points???
http://pointsandprizes.com/stories.php?req=listentries&id=20
I haven't received any info back from the second e-mail I sent them but hopefully tomorrow I will (fingers crossed)
Susan, I am missing A LOT of words from the partner sites. I'm ones of the group of ~200 who have a balance of 2055.
Fran, slackly is the only word I have from SheKnows and I still haven't found it myself.
I'm stumped. I got so hyped up last week when I found about 10 words one night and now I can't find any.
First, let me admit to trolling for words for a couple of weeks on this board now. However, I could never find words before they were already posted by someone else.
I, too, was dumfounded by how some people could have so many points in the New Year Challenge....went searching for an answer.
Here's my word:
Campus for 50 points expiring 1/31/08
Here's where I found it, in a She Knows pagan families message board that hasn't been updated since April.
http://talk.sheknows.com/f474/blessed-ostara-563627/
This proves that 1) When they say leave no board unsurfed, they really mean it 2) A board does not have to be recently updated to have a code word recently added to it. 3) The hardest-to-find words are not necessarily worth the most points!!
I hope this helps us all find more words. Thanks to all for posting the past words.
oh well, maybe tomorrow.
I just went to it now and there is a 50 point word DISBAR
Keep looking, maybe the 100 point word will show up as well.
I haven't heard back yet about whether there are 5 point words on each of the sites. I'm also curious to know if they post them all when the contest starts or if they add them throughout the month.
Natalie, disbar is on pregnancyandbaby (not geoparent)
Message board words are the hardest to find. That said, here are a few:
dateline 10 pts, witness 10 pts, shallow 25 pts
I am concentrating on the partner sites for now.
Well, I borrowed 'slackly' and since I didn't find it myself I couldn't verify that it did in fact come from the SheKnows web site. Thanks for letting me know it's a message board word.
And thanks for sharing the other 3 words with us!

I'm missing the 10 and 25 points though. If anyone found these, send me a pm, I'm willing to trade for the other ones.

Also, has anyone found the word LITCANDLE before it expired 1/15? I just found it today, a day late. Oh well, and I must have missed it.
I believe the first one is supposed to be roaring.
I've been feeling a tad upside down lately because there was a sudden change to the Guide program and all I've ever really done here on Gather is help and connect people, so I don't know what to do anymore, LOL!
I'll figure it out... and I LOVE to post these articles. I really enjoy spending time on other sites, anything that keeps my mind busy and earns some free stuff, extra cash or gift cards is GREAT for me. I'm a stay at home mom now and any little bit helps the family. :o)
Thank you, everyone, for all your great support and participation. You all amaze me!!!
I found LITCANDLE on another board last night but I never did find it in the newsletters. Hmm, maybe they just posted it yesterday! lol
