Saying goodbye to anger.

Make no mistake...

the things I have said happened, did happen.

The help/caring/love offered, promised,

then reneged on, no return,

in fact with MORE usage...

did indeed exist and her selfishness,

was the order of all things.

 

Flagging an article will not change that.

But looking once again today into those sadly

crazy eyes standing next to another man,

I can only feel sorry for them, both.

 

And have too damn much on my plate as is.

So while I still see 'live and let live' as a

begging excuse for absolution of someone's

damn poor treatment of a vulnerable

human being in crisis,

I simply don't have the time.

 

  DO NOT MISTAKE THAT FOR it 'being "OK"... it's not

Powerful words and raw feeling. I read hurt and confusion, loss and sorrow, anger and more than a little contempt mixed in for the person who showed such a flagrant disregard for the writer. It's difficult having all of those emotions whirling around when we think of someone in particular.... someone we may have had predominantly good feelings for not so very long ago.

Very well composed and emotive poetry, Lloyd.
Contempt... very good choice of term Donna.. and pity.

Lloyd, good poem! I relate to it too, although not for the same reason you do.

As someone who has flagged an article before for plagiarism (articles that are directly copied from e-mails BECAUSE it was my understanding that such articled now violated the TOS) all I can say, is that it would be nice if someone with some power could either verify of not if this practice is kosher or not on Gather. Yes, I am sure many articles are flagged that should not be, but much to Gather's credit, they have changed the system so that the flagger at least has to write out why they are flagging a particular piece…over a year ago, as I am sure you remember, the situation was much worse.

As far as letting the anger go, I know that there is a member who has a troublesome past who seems to be back on Gather wanting to pick a fight with about 100 different people. Since I long ago decided to limit my time on Gather I debated if I should respond to her allegations or not…and I decided that I do not have the time or energy to spend on another Gather War. People who know me and know the situation can judge me.

It is said that's why Im a ghost on a mission, I know you've voted for contest that I thank you for. I wasn't going to post the message at the bottom but your poem and my message go hand in hand. I want you to know Lloyd, that I support you. :-) Flaggers and One raters beware. :-)

I don't know who she is either, but I hope that she doesn't continue to treat people that way. I know I hate to see anybody going through this. I am glad to see that you are trying to help you instead of focusing on your anger, which keeps her in focus. I hope you find peace in your heart.

Lloyd, you do have a lot on your plate and no need to be slammed with more. Your poem states a core truth and I believe acknowledging it is the first step to releasing the hold it has on you. Better days are on their way, your truth will set you free from the past.

Good for you Lloyd. You have a lot on your plate and probably a little more coming soon. You'll feel better about yourself by letting the anger go. Life is too short anyway.
one of the things about literally being a Curmudgeon, Lynn, is a unwillingness to see someone profit from abuse.
somehow the sign-on bonus/apartment deposit if it went away satisfied a need to NOT let her win.. and if it didn't. well piss on her anyway.

Some people are not happy unless they make someone else miserable or cry or feel badly so let her/him think s/he has accomplished the goal and go on. It can't be a friend so why invest your time and anger in someone you are not befriending? Save you joys and sorrows to share with someone who can or will aprreciate the jesture. If we all love and care for you, Lloyd, the only power she has is that that you give her. Let it go and, good poem, Lloyd - write a happier one and make yourself smile...

Forgiveness and letting go is not about making it okay. It's about cutting losses, stopping the bleeding, stitching up the wound and keeping it as clean as possible.

I am sorry that you went through this horrible mess, but you have that pity for her and for her new victim. That lets me know that you have worked through a lot of your stuff and are willing to let it heal.

Anger issues...I found it ironic that someone letting go of anger expresses anger within the poem. Just an observation....I have no idea what is going on or what this relates to. :)

I don't know for sure what has happened here, but I'm sorry that you have anything else to deal with right now. I hope this writing has helped you release the anger, and get on with life.

I didn't mean my comment above quite the way it sounds, I know that this is a terrible time for you. When I said getting on with life, I guess I meant getting on with dealing with you life. In other words, you have so much going on right now, and life is so stressful...that if you can release the anger, maybe you will have less stress as you deal with things. When I read your comment back to me, I realized that it sounded a bit flip, and it wasn't intended that way at all.
