Oh yes, guys and dolls more mushy teen angst. I found my giant book of high school poetry. Its all quite miserable and hormonal. I was in love with a string of bad boys. These are pretty much all about the same one, well, two...
The sun is gold
as is your hair,
my heart.
Slowly it comes,
poisoning my system
swallowing me up in its toxic belly.
It pulled me in like a vacuum disposing of me.
I am suspended indefinitely.
I have been eaten alive by a thing called time.
I'm a satellite in the vigilant sky awaiting your every gesture.
You are a cloud floating along blissfully as light as the dawn.
I'll await your return to earth,
maybe forever.
Softly you linger, your scent gently lingering in the thick August air.
I feel your warmth against my cold and clammy skin.
I am dead within.
The fire that once burned within my soul has turned to pale ash
on the bottom of my dirty sneakers.
Still your resonant laugh drifts about on a summer breeze, in my ears
that have since fallen deaf.
