Year One - 100 WORD STORIES WEEK 15- CHALLENGE

One whole year after the outbreak and the doctors are still watching us.  They live apart, even posting guards.  What are they afraid of?   Only half of them survived their vaccine.  That's when we discovered we were chosen because of our immunity and not some higher purpose.  Perhaps they're right to be afraid of us.  I think they're afraid of what's coming.  It's inevitable.  Even though the virus contaminates canned foods as soon as they are opened, spoiling them; and finding fresh kills is challenging; it still couldn't be stopped.  It has been a year.  They will be born soon.
