Whats the hot gift this year?

They want the Wii, but I refuse to buy another video game system. Those companies have soaked me for enough of my money by constantly putting out videogame systems faster than you can keep up with.

Well, my man isn't a kid, but a kid at heart and he really wanted a Xbox 360 elite with a Forza 2 (racing game), but I can't afford much, so he's cool with it, and I'm buying him the older XBox sealed in the box form Game stop with warranty, got him a sweater hoodie (gave it to him early) and some CD's, and plan on buying DVDs. ;)

Gifts can get EXEPSNSIVE...boy do I know! :)

Mio Puppy. I found it at Wal-Mart the OTHER day, not today...LOL...for $44.00. My son will be 8 in Dec.

yep the Wii, everyone seems to want one, personally I would rather just go bowl for real, I don't call me silly!

I have no clue what's hot in toys, but came in to see what others were saying :)

One wants a Nintendo DS, but he got a Fly Pen. He'll get a DS for his Bday if I can find a good deal. The other wanted a PSP or an MP3 player and he got an MP3 player. it is 2gb and plays music, videos and holds pictures. It was about $64. Mt step-daughter asked for dolls and she got a leapster. It costed about $35 after coupons and discounts. She will also get a couple of dolls. Target had newborn cabbage patch dolls for $7 a couple of days before Thanksgiving. They were out so I got rain checks. My husband's ex's daughter didn't ask for anything, but we got her a Cannon 3.2 mp digital camera and printer set for $70.

I think a lot of electronic things are hot, but it gets expensive....especially the video game systems.

My older two both want a DS. This is the first year at the new company, and as opposed to the college, these guys hand out a Christmas bonus based on 5-10% of what you earned over the year. Nick didn't start until mid April, so it'll be a bit smaller than if he had been here for the whole year, but we're estimating no smaller than $800 take home. His friend who got him the job started last year in June, and he had a comparable income, and brought home $800 last year.

Anyway, because we actually have the chance to do some spoiling for once, we are getting those two each a DS, and 3 games (mostly used games from Gamestop). Then, because my younger daughter is way too young for a DS (or, rather, too young to be able to take care of one), and because she's going to want to play it, we got her a Leapster. We found one at Walmart a week or two ago that came packaged with a game for the same price.

Aside from that, they'll each get some clothing, Gilly & Rae have a Littlest Pet Shop toy, and Chris is getting some Bioncle sets. Oh, and LOTS of books. Raegan is getting one book that has all of the Narnia books printed together- it's big, but only slightly larger than the last few Harry Potter's, which she's read through in a few days each.

Chris is getting the first 4 books in the Rotten School series. Gilly is getting some art kit book sets. Raegan also has a journal, and a book that has several alphabet stencils in different funky fonts, and has instructions on how to mak 3D letters, and coloring them in oddly, etc. I'll probably pick up a box of colored pencils for her to get with that.

They each are also getting a $10 Borders card, and then Chris is getting a $10 Walmart card, adn the girls are getting a $10 Claire's card- I earned all $60 of those online, so it's just a nice bonus that I can give the kids each $20 without it having cost me anything other than playing around online.

DS LITE, the In-laws got it for them, I NEVER would have!! too much money on something they will only destroy

Not getting any video system, not when there is so much obesity. My kids play outside or we go to the gym and swim and use the exercise equipment or play basketball. THey'll get games (board games) or something else but no game systems.

We'll be getting board games since we don't have any video games in the house. My daughter wants a pink umbrella from Santa, and one of my sons wants a model ship. The other boys still don't know what they want. We usually get whatever we can afford at the Salvation Army/Good Will, etc, plus we shop for bargains year-round.

I have no children, so I have idea..........just passing by to say hello!!

My eight-year-old also wants a Nintendo DS. I try to limit computer time and prefer to get my boys outside so he's probably not going to get it. You never know though since my husband goes crazy around this time of year.

My daughter wants a acoustic guitar. My son wants an electric drum set. At least they are musical gifts and I don't mind giving them such things as gifts ... along with guidance books and apossibly lessons ... and the drum set will have earphones and I will need earplugs for the guitar music ...
