My daughter has endeared many people to her. She is such a doll, and anytime the "girls" get together I try to bring Bree with me. What can I say, she loves the attention. She has this phrase that just seems to catch your attention. Here's an example:
At Christmas time the "girls" from work get together at a local restaurant to have a great meal, exchange gifts, laugh and talk. This one-year we met at Olive Garden and I brought along my mini-me Bree. As usual I get thrown over for one of the other ladies for her to sit by; after all she sees me everyday.
We had a really good waiter and there were drinks all around (virgin variety for Bree), a lot of laughter and carrying on. She was sitting next to Mary T. (diet DR peper junkie) who accidentally knocked Bree's Bellini over. Everyone in the general vicinity let out a gasp, and then you hear this little voice say, "It's okay Mary, you're still a good person."
Many people have asked me where she got this. She is such a darling and so kind hearted. She gets very upset when she thinks she has disappointed someone. It stems from when she was very little, starting to drink from cups without lids. You tend to forget how big of an adjustment this is for little ones. I realized after a couple of spills that she took the accident very deeply; she would cry and apologize over and over again. One day when she was distraught after spilling a very small amount of milk I sat her down and tried to ease her mind. I told her that spilling a little milk now and then was just an accident; spilling milk did not make her a bad person. Tears rolling down her sweet face, such an angel; I could see her thinking it over. The tears started to dry and she says, "Accidents make you no bad people?" I reply, "Yes honey, even though you have an accident you're still a good person."
