A couple weeks ago I took two of my grandchildren on an adventure while the third was off on an adventure with his aunt.
I have decided to make this an every other Saturday event for the summer. This started by a request of twelve year old Corinna to take her to the library. Which is where we started two weeks ago.
If you read my article 'Perfect Saturday', you know it didn't stop at the library. We had quite a day together. Which is why we are continuing it.
This involves my daughter's twelve year old son, Larry, and her fiance's twelve year old daughter, Corinna, and Corinna's ten year old brother, Aaron. The boys thought this week should be boys only. But I explained that its all or none! So off we went.
As I have pretty much not been on all week, this article is a week old and we are gearing up already for this coming Saturday as the next adventure.
Two Saturday's back started with the two older worried about poor Aaron, as he doesn't have a library card. The previous trip Corinna was concerned because Larry didn't have his card with him. I assured her it would be ok, as Larry used to go with me all the time and is in the computer. And it was.
Upon returning our books to the desk, I sent the two older to start looking for their choices and asked if we could get a card for Aaron. I couldn't help but give Corinna a little smirky grin upon checking out, as the librarian explained to Aaron that if he forgot his card, not to worry, he was now in the computer!!!!
While in the library we also ran into my 16 year old grandson, Brian. He was doing some research for school on the computers. So that was a nice little bonus for me!
Then off to McDonald's to get grandma a coffee and soft drinks for them. Then to the park, had to chase those geese again!!! And climb and swing and slide and crawl in and on and through every piece of equipment there. While grandma read the paper and drank her iced vanilla latte. I had never had one of those before!!! It was good!
I had to run into the store to get a puppy collar, some puppy food, and a couple balls. We were picking up a new puppy for a girl down the street. She just moved here from Florida and has no friends yet, so a new puppy is right up her alley. As the family doesn't have much, I decided to chip in for the above items to start her out. So we did that next.
Grandma decided not to get as exuberant as last time as we have all summer to go. Don't want to wear grandma totally out the first two trips. So that was pretty much that.
Mom and Dad were out working on the new house, so dropped them off there. The drywalling is finally done, and just a few little touch-ups were needed in the mudding and sanding department. The cupboards have been ordered. The floors are here. The tub has been set. Getting closer all the time. Looks like they're about ready for primer and paint.
But now there will be a tiny set back. Jess goes for her 'female' surgery this weekend. She has decided two children are enough. Well she decided it right after Larry was born 12 years ago. But they have finally let her go through with that. Anyway, as her daughter Kaylee will be babysitting this weekend... I will also have her with me on our trip to the library.
And who knows where else our adventure might lead us!!!

Krissy - I don't know about awesome - but could tell ya a little about tired!!!!
Our plant made 95% of the plastic for the Jeep Cherokees at one time.
I retired in '99 and don't keep in touch with anyone much anymore.
A lot of changes going on there.
A new company is thinking of buying as old one went bankrupt - sort of sounds like our guys sold us retirees out - have heard we are losing both our insurance and our subpay (30 and outers who get a subpay until age 62). I try not to worry about it - but boy is that going to hurt. I take 8 meds a day, have to see doc quarterly, plus specialists a couple times a year.
