Winter is a great time to enjoy that special book while sipping your favorite beverage. Whether it's rainy, snowy or sunny, you can't wait to get on the sofa with the book you've been dying to read and enjoy it for hours. For Gather member Bridget A., that book was George Sullivan's Built To Last: Building America's Amazing Bridges, Dams, Tunnels And Skyscrapers and she drank a milkshake while reading it. Whatever the pairing, there's nothing better than curling up on a dismal day with a great book and your favorite beverage.

Hey there books editor. I just got done reading "The Absolutely true diary of a part-time Indian" by Sherman Alexie. This is a young adult novel which recently won the 2007 national book award. It is simply awesome, a combination of humor and painful suffering that explores the cultural and familial challenges of a 14 year old native american boy in Washington State who decides to attend an all-white school outside his reservation. Right now, I think Sherman Alexie is probably the person I would most like to have a beer with, he is that entertaining. Great for teen readers, but just as good for adults.

right now i'm reading QUICKIE by James Patterson... not up to his normal standards and I'm almost in the middle, but still a very good read! I'm already looking forward to my next good read by Sue Grafton!! A little birdie told me I'm getting my own copy for Christmas :0)

Fran- you are referring to "T is for trespass" by Grafton. Any idea what she is going to do for a living when she gets to the letter "Z"?

I just finished reading "Lover Eternal" by J.R. Ward last night. I'm going to start on the next book in the series tonight, it's called "Lover Awakened". I don't usually drink while reading, sometimes I'm clumsy and I fear spilling all over my book, but when I do it's usually a soda, and occasionally chocolate milk.
