In addition to a passing dish, I'm charged with bringing enough DVD's to Thanksgiving to keep all of my younger cousins happy & out of the kitchen. Not to mention, a movie for my immediate family to watch & relax in front of after the rest of our "clan" has left for the evening!
Last month I posted about my favorite Halloween movies (http://www.gather.com/viewArticle.jsp?articleId=281474977152351); This month, it's more about what will be entertaining us instead of movies about the actual Holiday...except for the Peanuts gang :)
Movies for the Kids - (this will entertain for about 5 hours....)
1) Charlie Brown Thanksgiving - 24 years and it's still a classic!
2) Ratatouille - The newest Pixar film about food & a rat who loves to cook on a foodie day - it's perfect! Warning - Your 6 year old may start asking for Brie instead of American on his/her grilled cheese after watching this.
3) Shrek The Third - It's the latest DVD featuring the big green guy and his donkey pal - they're off to find the new king (Justin Timberlake?) and Shrek is about to be a dad!
Movies for The Family -
1) Ocean's 13 - I'll be watching Danny O. & his crew since I missed them in the theater.
2) Evan Almighty - Steve Carell's task of buidling an ark will seem easy after feeding all of my relatives!
3) Charlie Brown Thanksgiving - yes, this was in the list above, but it's made for all ages!
So let me know - what's in your DVD player while the Turkey (or To-furkey) is cookin'?
