My mom is standing up for me right now. She believed me when I came out of counseling on March 7 and told her that my stepfather has been touching me and doing things to me that are wrong. He waited until I turned 18 and it went on for a few months. I was so scared because he said that he would kill me and anyone I told. My mom made things happen so fast - he has been removed from our home and is facing some criminal charges. We are finally starting to heal together. She is my best friend. My senior prom has just happened and it was so excited. I believe my mom deserves this trip because she has risk losing everything our home, friends and all security that we have known for 10 years. I am so glad that she knew what to do when I told her. My mom needs this prize she is the best. My step father goes to court on May 25 and I know this is going to be a very hard year coming. I am so glad my mom loves me and believed me.

This is a book about the after effects of incest...how it can impact your entire life..in ways you would not even think imagineable. Your stepfather committed a horrific crime and it is encouraging to hear of an abuser actually being convicted. most stories are about strangers...not family members. those are the tightly kept secrets. you are one of the most courageous women..you must believe that about yourself...
check out www.darkness2light.com and also check out the book I've referenced. It was written based upon a check-list of the after-effects of incest.
I wish all the best for you and your family during this time and throughout your healing process.
