In the wake of all that quality time spent together over the holidays, it's not hard to find people who think their families are a bit odd. Anyone seeking reassurance needn't look further than the Hoovers of Little Miss Sunshine.
Ostensibly the story of a family traveling to Los Angeles in a VW bus to enter their youngest, Olive, in a beauty contest, the film's real strength lies in the understated acting of such stars as Alan Arkin, Steve Carell, and Greg Kinnear in an offbeat look at a family on the road to a nervous breakdown.
