I am dressed in my witches costume
dragging along my riding broom
Setting out to cross the grave yard
It's dark, clouds are covering the moon
I'm a big girl, I am ten
Not afraid of any old thing
After all it's just Halloween
Trick or treating for goodies see the bag I bring
I'm in the middle of the graveyard
And the moon light is disappearing
The gravestones seem to be moving
My imagination that's it , I'm hoping
Then the trees seem to be swaying
To the very same eerie tune
The branches are bending lower
I see a big old owl on one, silhouetted by the moon
The twigs seem to be reaching
Out for me and I admit I have some fear
The hoot owl now is screeching
I don't think I'm alone anymore, someone else is here
I'm turning in my tracks, I can't see anything
I begin to run, for tentacles are grabbing at my hair
I stumble and I fall, now my heart is rapidly beating
I get back on my feet and feel I'm gasping for air
There is the street, just a bit ahead
I hope I can make it there
I turn and look back and see the skeletons dance
My feet won't move as I stare
Then I hear someone calling my name
And I hope it's not someone that's dead
A flashlight shines in front of me
It's kids with costumes and masks on their heads
If you need to meet up with friends
On a night called Halloween
Don't take a shortcut across the graveyard
You might see what I have seen
