So I really really want to get one. I had a few questions thoe. I know that alot of the coupons are geared towards places in your city/area, but i've also heard that the book offers other coupons for travel, hotel ect. Are those ones all the same for every citys book? The reason I ask is because i'm trying to plan our trip to Cali in June and was wondering if they offer any coupons in there for car rentals, Universal Studios, Disneyland, or any of the good neighboor hotels. If they do, can you tell me what some of them are. Ive looked on the Entertainment books website but they dont give you specific details. I'm hoping my husband will buy our local book for me for my birthday, which is next month. But if he dosent, then i'll just go get it. Also does anyone have the Southern California book? How much was it, and would it be worth it to purchase it for the short time were going ot be there?

i have no idea, i hope someone else can help you. i dont get the entertainment book, because they do not have anything for my area at all

I would go ahead and purchase a book for the location you are going to be visiting. Gather has a coupon up for $5 of the Entertainment book, and a lot of them are cheaper than the original cost to begin with, so you'll probably still come out ahead.

To get to the coupon for $5, click on the banner ad at the top for Gather's coupons, then scroll through all the coupons. The Entertainment book one is the last one listed.

some of them will be valid for anywhere... you can always call the places and make sure that they'll accept them before just taking them with you.

In the past they have offered coupons for those places. There are also some hotel discounts, and some retail store coupons as well.

You should be able to look at any book online by zip code and see page by page to know what is in each book

go to Entertainment.com and input your zip code in the box where it says "Preview Discounts Near You!" it will show you the book page by page

we love ours. always get one for christmas from the in laws. it pays for it self in 1 or 2 coupons

I just went and looked at the 2 books that I have(I have a book for Virginia and one for Northern Florida), but just to compare the travel coupons I thought it might be a help. The rental car coupons are all the same in both books(10% off, free upgrade, etc). The attractions are obviously different. I would assume they would have deals for Disneyland etc, but if you haven't already, I would look online at their website to see if they have any package deals. I know Disney World in FL does them all the time, so I assume it would be the same.

If you're going to eat out, or see any attractions while you're there, I would get the book. If you have a packed calendar the whole time you're visiting, you may be able to skip it.

I agree with Alexis that it makes most sense to buy one for the area where you are going. You can check out everything in your local book at Walgreens. This is what I did before I bought mine last year.

I have ordered them in the past for the fund raising efforts of the hospice I used to work for in NY. I found that a lot of places were pulled their participation and wouldn't accept the coupons but it was a great way to check out new places plus discounts on movies, etc.

Disneyland is really trying to encourage people to visit this year so you may check out their specials, directly. I know they're doing a birthday promotion.

I wish they offered these in my area but they don't. My mom buys at least one if not 2 every year and uses a lot of the coupons. When I was home visiting this summer she had enough TCBY coupons that not only could she have one but everyone that was going with us. It saved us over $30 that night.

They all seem to have car rental coupons that are good anywhere and I believe the hotels and restaurant discounts are national as well. However, you may want to get the one for where you'll be visiting if you want other goodies while you are there. I was a bit disappointed this year. Last year I had 4 coupons for $5 off $50 at my local grocery store that paid for the book. Not this year. Last year I used the Subway coupons. This year the coupons are only good at stores that are too far away for me. seems like most of hte coupons are not being honored in my area and it really irks me! At least I got my Miami Seaquarium tix on a BOGO coupon so at least that got me my money's worth. Oh... not sure if they still have the offer but cashbaq.com was offering $10 rebate on the book so I really only paid $10 for it.

I have the local RI one myself and I just peeked at the travel section and it has a few locations in Cali as well as elsewhere, but mostly hotel and car rental deals.

I get them every year from the grandkids schools. Usually a local Super market deal and lots of fast food deals. Nice to try out the more UPSCALE restaurants on a BOGO for special occasions. usually worth the price. We found them handy when the kids wanted to take a friend with them ................same price for us!

I just ordered two for the Fort Myers, FL area but they haven't arrived yet. We go down there for a good portion of the winter and the books more than pay for themselves over and over again.

I say buy both --- if you go through thr mypoints website, you get free shipping AND 750 points per purchase --- so buy two separately. Another thing I did was go to their website and you can get some coupons there. When we were planning our trip to San Antonio, I plugged that into their search for coupons engine and it breought up coupons that I could print off for use in the San Antonio area --- so that's always an option too! Good luck in deciding!

Try ordering though one of the sites that gives you money back like cashbaq or big crumbs. You can get a great price that way.

When it comes to hotels and rental cars, the Entertainment Book is not the best way to go.

I have used hotwire.com and priceline.com for hotels and gotten great deals.

For cars, try each company website and look at 'Special Offers'.

I loved them when I lived in a buig city like Baalto. or Orlando. they paid for themselves in one day here I don't get out much so it wouldn't be worth it

I generally don't get one. Most of the coupons are for the MO side of the river and very few are for the IL side (where we live).
