fresh as the wind
you made me smile with this unexpected
whimsy
The one bear in front seems to be looking at us but I'm wondering what the other 3 friends are contemplating.
Lee - a wise observation on the hazards of photography on the notoriously treacherous desert floor. Always keep a few inches between you and the cactus. Ouch!
Lynn - your laughter may be contagious, for it surely made me smile! One of those surreal moments of escape to a funnier place. On an interesting note, I had to take this picture very quickly. As soon as I had set up the animals, I heard a car door slam and some voices and footsteps hurriedly coming down the dirt pathway. Like a flash I took several shots and then stuffed the gang into my capacious backpack and walked nonchalantly back to the car in a spirit of incognito. As I passed the group of hikers, I just smiled and they smiled back with no one discovering the caper. Only one foot was left hanging from the backpack and I really don't think they saw that at all! Mission accomplished with no time left to spare.
Jan - proceeded by a poem
you gift us with a tome
smiles crown the home
of laughter's pleasant roam
Wilma - I believe the other 3 friends were studying a strategically placed airline schedule on possible timetables to visit extended family members in the Pacific Northwest. Alas, they do not have glasses and have some difficulty in reading at great distance. Periodic eyeglass examinations should therefore be employed with some urgency. To visit the snowbound one must have clarified vision.
Thank you for many smiles and for brightening my day!
Lynn - can you imagine my chagrin at almost being discovered? It was a close call, deliverance offered just in the nick of time. I love the comparison to Dick Van Dyke's inspired comic routines, as he always has been one of my favorites. Many thanks for your engaging perception of this otherworldly sense of humor.
Marge - your spirit of joy seems to access limitless reserves of writer's imagination. I am grateful for your visit to these pages.
Hope none of your furry friends were stuck by the cactus!
