Scuba diving off Carmel, my regulator malfunctions and I inhale frothy sea-water. I can see my dive buddy's back; he's busy photographing fish. Popping my weight belt and tank, gagging, desperately I kick to the surface and gasp for air. On the beach my wife and 3 year old wave.
