So that you understand. 

  • Yes this is my first 1000 points. 
  • No it is not just for February. 
  • I have been around for a while.

I am still thrilled.  I read about those who go for 3,000 and above each and every month and I am amazed and impressed.  Maybe I need to focus a little better or maybe I need to prioritize some of my free time better.  Dare I dream that big.

Thanks to everyone who write great articles so that I can leave comments and for those who have taken the time to comment on my posts.

Next stop, 2,000.

Way to go. It feels even better when you send for that first gift card. I truly dont know how some make so many points. I have tried my best to decide what to do to make them add up faster. Some days I have stayed on here for up to 14 hours straight typing and talking and only made 30 points. But have had days where I didnt have time and would make all kinds of points. So I applaud you for getting this, now have fun and dont let it become a job.

Yes Kelly is correct, the first 1,000 is a milestone, it wont be long before you start getting gift cards. You can already get a few different ones. But it takes less points to get the larger cards, than two of the small ones.

Wow, David, good job! Honestly, what it takes to get to 3,000 on Gather is a disproportional amount of time when compared to the actual tangible benefit you get from it. Of course, if you want a goal to meet, by all means, set the goal and reach it. Clearly, it can be done, and done by just about anyone. But, the important thing is to enjoy Gather for more than points and to foster this community like you would your own neighborhood by making it the best place possible. :) I'll get off my soapbox now.

David, it takes a while to get them. You just need to post a lot. That only works if you don't have a full time job but then if that's the case, $50 a month isn't enough to live on either. I'm working for Home Depot Cards so I can get "more" christmas lights. LOL And Yes I have a lot and always put up more. LOL
