Don, Phil, Kentucky,
I'll never get over you.
Two voices, one dream.

Thanks Glen for this succinct and emotive tribute.
"Kentucky
You are the dearest land outside of
Heaven to me
Kentucky
I miss your Laurel and Redbud tree.
When I die
I want to rest upon a graceful
mountain so high
For that is where God will look
for me...."
My dad was born in Kentucky and enjoyed this music immensely. In 1968 the Everly Brothers released "Roots," a fabulous album containing a partial segment of the song quoted above. This album also features a heartfelt rendition of Merle Haggard's "Mama Tried," a sublime Randy Newman song entitled "Illinois," a grand and noble "Sing Me Back Home," and an inspired montage of "The Everly Family (1952)," including original radio broadcast clips from the Everly program. Indelible harmonies, indeed!
