I had to trudge a mile from the parking lot to the front of the store. Once inside, I couldn't help but witness the chaos. People were running from aisle to aisle, climbing over each other in their desperation to obtain provisions for their family. Their very survival might depend upon their snatching the last loaf of bread from a little old lady's hands. Were they prepared to do that? You betcha!
Everyone knew there was no telling when they would have the all clear to leave their homes again and get food. Might be days, might be weeks. A disaster like this, you never knew what could happen. I braced myself to jump into the desperate throng to get my milk and bread.
What is our disaster you ask? It' so horrible....
AN INCH OF SNOW IN GEORGIA!!!!!!!!
Now, lady, give me that bread and nobody gets hurt!
