Merry Holidays to All of My Friends

Santa Claus is coming to town
Yes he does it every year
I am not going to let him get me down
I will greet him with much cheer


Things are not the same for me
People that loved the Holidays the most
Are gone from my life, to soon somehow
But I still am happy, I boast


For memories of many Christmas's past
replay in my heart with joy
Thank heaven's I have that ability
to remember each girl and each boy


As they sneaked down the stairs on their tippy toe
To see what Santa had left them
I can still see their eyes, lit up with a glow
and enjoying the Holiday bedlam


The shrieks of delight that escaped their sweet lips
Is still music that I still hold dear
It's as though I can see it, recorded in clips
and I hit replay every year


So this is just to say Merry Christmas to all
And may Santa bring your heart's desire
If you can't see the ones you love, give a call
and let your voice be heard in the choir


The one that is singing Joy to the world and Silent Night
Listen intently, you will hear your favorites, I'm sure
And you'll see the trees trimmed with tinsel and light
Christmas will capture you once again with it's lure

Glad you have so many wonderful memories...and family you love that will still be with you to help celebrate. Those who are gone with be with you in spirit like the angel atop your tree. Make sure you have an extra, special holiday, don't eat too much and keep your dress down if you have too much egg nog. I'll be spending it alone with the only thing to look forward to being the coal Santa leaves in my stocking...and the poop the reindeer drop down my chimney. Merry Christmas!!!

Elsie, I love to read all of our greetings to each other. These days I'm afraid to write Christ, Hanukkah/Chanukah, or whatever, in our frenzy to be politically correct. All the same, this season still manages to be magical for everyone who seeks the magic, and even for a few who do not.
Along with all of Gather, I wish you a multitude of happiness during this season, and I love your beautiful poem to celebrate that magic.

I hope you had a lovely Christmas..making new memories and remembering the warmth
of the love shared from those bygone celebrations.
Somehow,those memories still brighten our hearts,like the light from stars million of miles away,too faint to light up the night sky but brilliant in their beauty.
