“The Menu for Tomorrow”
By Barbra L.
It is Thanksgiving Eve! What is on the menu for tomorrow?
Amenities of yesteryear
From which our souls can borrow?
Will demented people amend their ways, and strive for rationality,
Or will the fragments of beguilement rule ~
Regardless of nationality?
Will lawmen rule with menus of mendacious thoughts or deeds
With vehement motives or fermented talk,
Or perhaps, all four of these.
Will segments of society with unmentionable offences,
Torment their souls at any cost
To satisfy their senses?
***
The menu for tomorrow, is abandonment of pride ~
Its momentum for development
We feel daily by our side.
This fundamental menace with its draftsmen of disguise
Augments the truth and disports itself
Before our very eyes.
But tomorrow’s plate of clemency will delay pride’s unknown feats
For mercy to ourselves and others, will amend us
Of this beast.
What is on your menu for tomorrow? It is Thanksgiving Eve!
Will you join us in extinguishments
Of beguilements that deceive?

Well thought out Barbra - WTG...!
Barbara this is one of the most impressive I've seen yet, I knew there was a flame, just didn't realize you could 'fire' it up like this!
A great PPOW for all MEN and women to heed ;)
The font and format, indeed, makes your poem appear as a fancy menu, with the costs to pay, found in the words. As Tk said; "...most impressive...!"

Guilty of writing great PPOW!
Amazing poem. Rhythm and rhyme pleasing and softening the stern admonishMENt of the message.
