Patience is something we all either have or desire to have in our lives. This group is for those interested in all aspects of patience.

This group is for those of us that work to maintain patience...those who have unlimited patience and those who would like to share stories of patience. All stories, tips, advice and questions are welcome...remember, patience may be a virtue but it's not a requirement here! This is not a large group description but then again, those who are members, may not have the patience to read a LONG one! LOL

Joe, it is my understanding that your friend has received notes from gather. I don't know a lot about the background but I urge you to have her contact support@gather.com directly again and explain her concerns. OR you can do it in her stead, if you have her permission of course! Keep me posted on the outcome.....whether you choose to believe it or not, I DO care...and I'd like to see this matter settled as well.

Patience is a virtue, and I want it NOW! When I paint I have to practice much more patience than I often do in the rest of my life. You asked about how I acheived a particular effect in one of my recent paints, and it mostly boils down to patience. It is always about waiting for stuff to dry!! I did a layer of brilliant colors in watercolor, then thought of a fishy composition, layered on gesso (I use it instead of white acrylic a lot), some of the underlying watercolor picks up a little into the gesso (I think that may be what you are referring to). I layered a little rice paper in along the way, and finished by giving the fish eyes and a gill mark. The rice paper collage was applied with acrylic matte medium after I crumpled it some and flattened it back out.
