Romantic Scavenge

They'd been together so long,
without ever getting married, but
knowing that she was ready to leave,
planned a romantic scavenge.

That Saturday, he took her to their special place
armed with a picnic basket,
and picked her a bouquet of daisies
while giving her sweet kisses.

Looking inside the picnic basket,
she found no food,
but a hand-written reservation
to their favorite restaurant.

When they arrived, they were taken
to a table in the back,
with seating for two
and a candle in the middle.

Continuing the romantic scavenge,
for he didn't want to lose his love
he got down on one knee
and took from his pocket a ring.

A beautiful diamond and sapphire ring,
and placing it on her finger,
with eyes filled with love
he asked her to marry him.

She stared at him in shock.
She looked at the ring on her finger.
He started to sweat.
She softly said, "Yes.", and fainted!
