Crocus raises head
thaw imminent; mud abounds
cardinals nesting
humid, milky haze
heady scented heated blooms
thunderheads blossom
golden showers fall
blanketing wooded pathways
ancient footsteps made
grey clouds gathering
swirling white snow drifting down
icy hush prevails

Perfect description of today. Lovely
Lynx, I have to agree that haiku is my favorite in this series about the seasons, probably because Autumn is my favorite season and it shows in my writing. I was remined after living near these Appalachian Mtns so long of all the Indian tribes that once roamed this area and their pathways are still visible in some places. Have you ever read Louis L'Amour. He wrote a novel titled THE LONESOME GODS...it is still one of my favorites to this day.
"golden showers fall
blanketing wooded pathways
ancient footsteps made"
Exceptional work.
