How long does it take AC to approve your work?

I FINALLY submitted my first article to AC on the 11th and I'm still waiting for approval. I want to send this article to some people but I guess they don't even post it until it's approved for $, is that right?

Can someone tell me about how much longer I should expect to wait before hearing anything? I will be unreachable for the weekend and I was hoping that I would hear something before I leave tomorrow and have some time to promote the article and send it to people who I know really need the information.

I know it said it can take up to a week to get approval but today is day 6... does it usually take the full week?

I'm just wondering what to expect. Thanks! :)

Well my first took 2 weeks but my husband's first took a month. I got an email from them stating how backed up they were and whatnot so I'm not sure what to say. My one online friend said it usually takes a week.

I never ask AC for advance payment anymore. I always take the performance pay, which lets you post immediately and post your articles elsewhere as well. Since they rarely pay more than a few dollars upfront, I still make pretty good money at AC and keep the rights to my articles.

But right now, expect to wait at least two weeks, possibly three, because that is how long they are taking to update the performance rates due to how backed up they are, so it makes sense it is taking that long to approve articles as well.

I've been writing at AC on and off for about a year and a half and right now it is definitely about 10 working days for approval.
