I am currently working part-time as a freelance writer and am considering doing so full-time when my kids are older (my full-time job is taking care of them), but I hate marketing my writing and am wondering how many more regular clients I would need to make a living as a writer. So, my questions for other freelance writers are:
1. Do you consider yourself part-time or full-time?
2. If you are a full-time freelancer, how long did you work part-time as a writer before taking the plunge?
3. How many regular clients do you have (i.e., companies or organizations for whom you write at least monthly)?
4. What percentage of your writing time do you spend doing work for your biggest client?
5. How often do you look for new places to market your work?
I've never really talked with any other freelance writers about this end of the business, and I'd love to hear what is typical.

I was not able to market my work, I have been writing since 1980...no support, no book published, only poems, one award for poem ..a medal..no money. There was one newspaper which had a womens page..that paid a little, the newspaper closed down, one magazine paid a little for an article, I guess free lance means ..perhaps..writing for free....not fee.
