I have never published non-exclusive because I heard that exclusive pays higher. The drops in offers have been significant lately, so I would hate to even think about how mcuh they would offer for a non-exclusive if that is true :) Keep us posted on how things work out for you! (and hopefully some others will enlighten us as well)

Interesting. I've seen some quite high offers on my non exclusives (some nearing $10), but I was suspecting you'd make more if it were exclusive.

I was wondering about that too. I always pause and wonder when I am filling that part out. So far I have always choosen non-ex, because of here, my blog, and other places. I like to keep my options open:)

Gwen, that's what I usually do unless it's a CSO deal or something I don't really plan to publish here.

Though now that I've gotten the swing of things there and a feel more for the site I'm wondering if I could sacrifice a few points here, and instead get a few more dollars there. At this point it'd be worth it, since I took out a credit loan two days ago for a shiny new laptop... and the extra bucks would be useful paying that off. :)

Very interesting, I was also quite suprised with an offer near 10 bucks on a non-exclusive piece I'd published here a week or two before. So I think I have it all figured out and submit another article to have it denied for lack of shelf life. I resubmit for non payment and it immediately goes up, it will bring in a few pennies - - we also get paid a per click bonus. And now I too have submitted an Exclusive - - to see what happens.

I have seen a difference of only about 1 dollar on exclusives. I figure I make more than a buck on points by publishing non-exc. at AC and then also publishing it here.

Elias, I've never seen that. Denied for lack of a shelf life... I had one denied as they classed it as "prose, poetry, or memoires" I didn't think it was any of that, but ah well. One out of more than 10 isn't a bad deal.

I assumed that exclusive would be higher, but twice I got really low offers and wasn't willing to sell all rights for that price, so I submitted the exact same story as non-exclusive. The first time I got the same offer, and the second time, the non-exclusive offer was higher! I don't think I'll be submitting exclusives anymore.

That's really bizarre, Shannon. Darn, now I don't know which way to submit. I've been submitting as Exclusives lately, but that was part of a trial.

One article got a offer of $4.79 and on the same day, another got an offer of $8.05.

I do believe the one article was quite a bit longer than the other.. but still a big difference in the offers.
