A few weeks ago, someone posted an announcement of their article on Associated Content to one of my Gather groups. (I apologize for not remembering who it was.) I hadn't heard of AC, and I checked it out. Now I am also published there (an unpaid book review): www.associatedcontent.com/article/137690/a_review_of_the_bubbles_yablonsky_mystery.html
Thank you for posting about AC here -- I worked as a freelance writer for a while and gave it up because the money I made wasn't worth the time and money I spent marketing what I had written, but I've been in a writing mood lately, so I'm hoping something I write will interest them!
I do have a question, though -- the email they sent me talked about promoting the article through bookmarking. How does that work?

My understanding is that your ratings go up the more hits your article gets...the more hits, the more money you get, capping out at about $25 per article.
You send out invites to your friends (your network) who then "bookmark" your articles. Everytime you write a new article, your friends get the new link, you get the hits, and the ratings go up.
Does that kind of make sense?
So, thanks to you, Shannon for asking the question, and to you, Jeannie for helping her (and I) learn something new.
Jennifer, congratulations! What are the links to your articles?
My AC is http://www.associatedcontent.com/user/24510/barb_webb.html btw, stop by, I'm always happy to trade page views and comments with fellow gatherers!
