Protestors at Funerals???

It was incredibly hard to remain impartial and report the "news" of the situation. All night and continuing into today though, the subject matter has been bothering me. Truly, I'm must confess that I am apalled.

Protestors at funerals?

Having a cause is one thing, being a fanatic is one thing... stooping this low is quite another.

How can a group that disturbs the sanctity of grieving families in any way label themselves a Christian entity?

I read the article,was there someone in the poor family that died,that was gay? not that it matters but the article was centered about protesting gay. I think it is discussting,what do they think gives them the right to do this to anyone? These people who THINK they are "holier than thou",make me sick.

This is the same group that protests at funerals of American soldiers also. My brother rides with the Patriot Guard Riders, a group of motorcycle enthusiasts who attend these funerals just to keep a distance between this group and the grieving families. I won't call them a church, as their beliefs are far from spiritual. Their actions ARE disgusting and sickening, and how they think they are furthering their cause by doing this is beyond me.

These anti-Christians in sheep clothing are the same bible thumping, church going, adulterers, cocaine using, wife swapping hypocrites who blindly support and follow individuals like the Rev. Ted Haggard. They need to feel moraly supperior to any and everyone in order to justify their own shortcomings.

This echoes a lot of what I felt when writing this. Thanks for the additional info, I did do a little research on the group when I wrote the article, but stopped as it really turned my stomach.

As a journalist, I know there's room in the world for everyone, no matter what their beliefs, but some people really push the line too far. I cannot imagine how I would react if this happened at a funeral I attended. How horrible for the families involved.

I hadn't heard of the Patriot Guard Riders- hats off to them for their courage and honor!
