AC Finally Upgraded the Clout

Woohoo!! I was very pleased to notice today that the clout has finally changed. I jumped from 1 to 5 overnight. heh. I was certainly getting sick to death of that number sitting there at the 1 when I knew damn well I had well exceded that number of hits. But a 5? WOW!

 Nice little surprise, that...

 Also, while I'm here, I should warn you that they have stopped paying for reviews of novels at AC. You can submit them for no pay only now. Grrrrr.

What the heck is "clout"?

Clout is a little system that gives you a different colored numbered planet to designate how many pageviews you have generated with your articles. It starts at leve 1 and goes to level 10 (which is equal to 1 million views!)

I think I read the response about books saying that non-fiction might be still on the paid for list? Not 100% about that though.

Congrats to all the clout climbers! I hit 7 from a 4 and will probably be stuck there for awhile because the 7 goes from 50,000 to 100,000 pageviews.

This is the first time mine has budged since I joined last fall. I knew it was being worked on to fix it, just didn't really expect it yet. YAY!

And yeah... they sort of still take non-fiction books... but they have to be highly popular books searchable by something other than just the title of the book.

It would seem I have attracted an enemy camp on AC all of a sudden. How sweet of them to put so much effort into downrating my articles. I guess they don't realize that the rating doesn't really matter all that much there, but the hits help boost my pay offers. Perhaps I should work on pissing off a few more groups...

The jump was nice to see :) Thanks for the info on the book reviews too... bummer... I was thinking of writing one or two and you saved me the hassle! Appreciate it!

congratulations!!! mine went from 1 to 6 - I almost fainted! I was also really glad to see actual hit rates for my articles - that's very helpful.

The hits haven't moved since they put them up, though. I wonder how oftent hey plan to update them?

Also, I have been told they will not buy movie reviews any longer either, except for movies which are currently in the theater...

And today I noticed the offers were really odd.. not even dollar amounts any longer, but like $7.37 or something. Strange, that.
