It seems
so quaint and 'old fashioned' . . . writing a letter by hand, but it doesn't have to be an antiquated habit that is abandoned altogether in favor of quick and speedy cell phones, laptops, and E-Mail. Writing a letter by hand to a dear friend, or family member, is a wonderful way to say "Hello" and stay in touch. Personally, I find it both rewarding and relaxing to pen a note and I am very prompt in sending hand-written thank you notes for gifts and small acts of kindness. It's a wonderful way of showing gratitude.
In fact, I intend to 'Write A Letter By Hand', as part of my I Resolve To . . . Challenge: 365 Resolutions For Health & Happiness. Why not join me? The objective is very simple: Do at least one thing each and every day to promote health and happiness for 'YOU'. Banish the 'Someday, Someday, Someday Syndrome'. Instead, make every day New Year's Day. Make every day count. The list of possibilities is infinite and can be tailored to your own dreams, resolutions and daily goals. If you need some help - a little nudge, a bit of inspiration, tips, advice, and news about the best ways to make resolutions a reality - please use IResolveTo.Com and the I Resolve To . . . Group at Gather as two of your resources. Resolve365 in 2009.
Having lived in four different states and the District of Columbia in the last 30 years, I have friends who have moved around a lot, like me, and are scattered all over the country and overseas. They can always count on a holiday card and letter, as it is my primary way of staying in touch. That said, I intend to add some hand-written letters to the mix because I know it would suprise and delight my friends. I have a few fancy pens that will aid me in this wonderful little journey, but I need to buy some lovely new stationery. Choosing the paper and envelopes will be half the fun of writing my letters! I did my daily Internet surfing in an effort to learn new things and found a wide-array of stationery stores. Here is a sampling.
