Three full months have passed since the beginning of the New Year. I have made a resolution to put away the bills, coupons, letters, etc, that I receive in everyday's mail on a daily basis, so I don't end up with several huge piles of documentation to sort through and put away at the end of the year.
So far, I have pretty much followed the resolution completely. I sort the mail into different categories, and immediately file them to wherever they belong. The only exception is the credit card bills, because I have yet to reconcile the charges to the individual receipts, and I can't quite put them away until I have done that.
Overall, I am very happy with my achievement. The old piles from 2006 are mostly put away, and there is no new pile for 2007. I do have a "temporary pile" where I put papers that still need attention (such as the rebate forms, or direct mail offers that I want to respond), but that is expected. They will be gone when I complete the tasks and "close the case" on them.
How am I doing with my New Year's Resolution? Pretty good!
