My husband and I will be married two years this March. Even before the wedding we had started the classes to be foster/adoptive parents. We finished them just weeks after the wedding and got our first foster children, three girls, sisters, just months later. We were hoping to adopt special needs children (siblings groups and children with disabilities). The girls were just that and a dream come true. They were with us almost a year before they returned to their birth family. Just days before this past Christmas they returned to our home and our lives, this time as foster children available for adoption. A true Christmas miracle, our girls were home! This year, with the help of God, a judge we haven't met yet, and our families and friends we'll be able to make our whole family official and legal!

Thank you for taking the time to write and share this wonderful article with us on gather.
This is very cool that you and your husband are the type of people who are willing and understanding to be able to let these children in your homes. Okay that might sound a bit odd, but what I mean by that is, some people think they can handle being foster parents and dont realize what really goes into it, you and your husband sound like you guys are awesome at it, which is totally cool.
