Isn't New Year's Eve great? It's the day we pig out in preparation for the big New Year's diet. It's our final day to lounge freely as a couch potato without guilt. It's the day we feel certain we really are going to accomplish all those lofty goals in the upcoming year. Our motivation is at an all-time high as we let go of our previous failures, ready to start again, refreshed and raring to go. Wouldn't you like to have that feeling 12 times a year, rather than only once?
My resolution for 2007 is to have a monthly celebration where I will look at what I accomplished for the month and set goals for the next month. For each major goal I will look for gather groups or start my own group and report back on my progress. This should help keep me accountable and will keep me motivated to move forward. And to make things fun, the last day of the each month, I'll have a New Month's Eve celebration, free from any pressures or guilt. I may even stay up until midnight and drink champagne, but only if I feel like it.
My yearly goals for 2007:
Spend more quality time with family and friends
Get published for money
Organize my house, with major cleanup in the basement
Learn something new each month
Run a half-marathon
Hike Colorado, including at least one 14er
Gather Staff, let's cut to the chase. I've had this pesky “get published for money” goal on my list for years. How about just awarding me the $50 and let me cross that one off my list?
