I don't have any data to back this up. But I'm confident that the top 3 New Year's Resolutions, in no specific order, are:
1. Lose weight
2. Quit Drinking
3. Quit Smoking
I could be wrong. But I always seem to hear those three thrown out in resolute fashion around New Years. For the past 15 years my own resolution has been the very unoriginal ...cough...ahem...cough cough...Quit Smoking! I've always waited for the New Year to give quitting another shot, with the same result: Back on the butts before the Super Bowl. This year I changed it up a little and got a jumpstart on this year's resolution. I haven't had a smoke in three weeks so my new - new year's resolution is (cue the trumpets!):
Continue to not smoke!
Sure, it's the same as "Quit Smoking". But this just may be the psychological advantage I needed all along. Fingers crossed!
